Overview

Foundry, publisher of Tech Advisor, PCWorld, Macworld and TechHive is looking for a Senior Editor to join its Consumer Editorial team. 

 

As senior editor, you will work with PCWorld’s executive editor and managing editor to boost content volume around freelancer-driven assignments; edit breaking news and topical content as part of our content-editing team; and author original content in various security-related topics, including ransomware protection, identity theft control, parental control and online reputation management. In this capacity, you will write reviews, features, and Best Pick roundups.

This role can be located in any of our US office locations with a hybrid work schedule, or in an approved US remote location.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the editorial management team to assign, edit and publish a steady stream of reviews, features and how-to articles in core topics: security software and services, laptops, and PC accessories and peripherals.
  • Act as an on-call editor to edit breaking/topical content.
  • Update Best Pick review roundups and other SEO-driven articles to ensure freshness and relevancy to readers.
  • Contribute to seasonal shopping events such as Prime Day and Black Friday.
  • Write and update computer security-related content (software and services), working with our editors to help fill in holes in our coverage plan.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • 3 years of content editing experience in the tech industry preferred.
  • Excellent English-language communication skills, with an emphasis on writing and editing.
  • Deep knowledge of PC-related products and topics, with an emphasis on computer security.
  • Understanding of how to make content perform inside and outside Google Search.
  • Knowledge of on-page SEO
  • Ability to write engaging content for Google Discover, Google News, newsletters, and social posts.
  • A dynamic, engaging, of-the-moment writing and editing voice.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The anticipated total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $70,000 and $90,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
